There is no better way to spend July’s heatwave than next to a beach. But, what if you don’t have easy access to one? The next best thing, but equally fun, is to head to one of the many swimming pools in and around London that give you the chance to blow off some steam, share quality family time with the kids, and cool off during the high temps. Right below, are options we strongly recommend based on our personal experience, along with some pretty amazing water parks nearby the capital that you could also splash into!

Best London Swimming Pools (with Slides)
1. Waterfront Leisure Centre (Greenwich) – You will find plenty of activities to keep the little ones busy and entertained (if you join their summer holiday club) while you relish your cocktail by the pool. Plus, a wave machine front and, of course, water slides for added thrill and excitement!

2. Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre (Richmond) - A great place to go with the children and relax. Note that there are two pools available, one for pure leisure and one for fitness so you can also do some laps to enhance your physique if you feel like it. Not to forget the fancy 40-metre long flume that takes family swim sessions to an upper level!
3. White Oak Leisure Centre (Baxley) – Pick the slide you prefer based on how much adrenaline you wish to run through your veins and just go for it. For families with small children, we recommend the gentle Whale Whirler ride. The hair-raising Shark Shocker slide is for the most fearless while the twisting speed of the Dolphin Glide will cater for the needs of those seeking something in between!
4. Aquaterra (Upper Holloway) – Just a few miles north of the British capital, the Aquaterra offers you warm waters (around 30oC) and a quirky sloping beach to savour a Caribbean-like experience! If you get lucky, you may happen to be around when they turn on the wave machine, water jets, and cold flume slide too.

5. Kingsmead Leisure Centre (Kent) – If you choose to visit the centre during the Fun Time session, then expect rafts, inflatable rings and an inflatable island waiting for you. Worry not if you miss it. There are plenty of designated areas by the pool to use and claim your fill of fun on the slides!
Best Water Parks in the UK
· Blue Lagoon Water Park (Pembrokeshire) – Open 12 months a year, this fab indoor waterpark will keep you satisfied with things like outdoor hot tubs, waves, tropical temperatures, and a cove for the youngsters to explore.
· Waterworld (Stroke on Trent) – An outdoor water park with four multi slides (1) The Python, (2) the Space Bowl, (3) the Black Hole, and (4) Twister, that welcomes its some 400.000 visitors to a fantastic water wonderland every year.
