Given that Londoners rarely see any extreme weather conditions and that the climate in Britain, in general, is mild, the cosmopolitan capital is indeed a superb place to visit year round. What is different is the experience you will get, depending on which time of the year you decide to come. Here is what to expect per season from a trip to London!

London in Spring
Except for the longer hours of daylight, you will also enjoy temperatures ranging between 6oC and 180C (42F and 64F). Make sure you pack an umbrella, though, because rains and showers are quite frequent. As for celebrations and festivals that take place here, Easter falls in this period, and the majority of shops are closed on Easter Sunday. Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays, and Central London becomes a busy hub during the 15-day Easter holiday!
Popular Annual Events: London Marathon, London Harness Horse Parade, Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race, Queen’s Birthday Gun Salute, May Fayre and Puppet Festival, Oak Apple Day, and Covent Garden Festival.

London in Summer
The summer is a beautiful time to visit London as the weather gets significantly warmer (could even go over 30oC – 86F), and most rooftop bars, beer gardens, and green spaces reopen after a long winter, offering locals and tourists alike superb views and many opportunities to have fun! Also, outdoor cinemas and music festivals are in full bloom while the most popular venues organise events and exciting parties. Needless to say, all popular attractions have the longest queues so do book your ticket(s) in advance!
Popular Annual Events: Trooping the Colour, Notting Hill Carnival, Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships, City of London Festival, Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, Henley Royal Regatta, and more!
London in Autumn
The summer crowds are beginning to reduce, and London welcomes the first school holidays (the October mid-term), which gives families to explore the capital and have fun. The weather is mild, and temperatures average at around 15oC (59F), allowing people to enjoy the widest variety of annual events (compared to the other seasons) and, of course, the incredible Christmas lights and decorations and the festivities that begin mid-November.
Popular Annual Events: The Great River Race Thames Festival September, Totally Thames Festival, Halloween, Mayor’s Thames Festival, Horseman’s Sunday, Pearly Kings and Queens Harvest Festival, and many more!

Winter in London
The weather is now much colder (temps averaging between 30C and 6oC – 36F and 43F), but there is still much to do and see in the British capital. Just get some warm clothes and head towards Trafalgar Square, where a majestic Christmas tree and lots of carol concerts will fill your heart with joy! If you happen to be around a bit earlier (at the end of November), don’t miss the Christmas Street lights that switch on at various celebrations across Bond Street, Regent Street, and Oxford Street. The months of January and February are quieter, except for the February half-term week, where almost everything, from accommodation to shopping, is cheaper due to the many deals offered then.
Popular Annual Events: Christmas Pudding Race, Frost Fair, New Year’s Fireworks and Street Party, New Year Day Parade, and more.
No matter which month you choose to visit the never-sleeping London, make sure you travel with unbeatable comfort, luxury, and safety!
