After the mini heatwave we have all experienced the past couple of weeks, the weekend (and our chance to cool and dive in refreshing waters) is, at last, only a day ahead. Although London is full of green spaces and parks that offer superb sunbathing opportunities, nothing compares to the relaxation and fun of the fantastic rolling sand dunes and idyllic slices of paradise found not far away from the British capital. So, if you are thinking of a day trip with the family or a romantic getaway on the shore, here is where your private driver can take you this weekend!
1. Camber Sands
Camber Sands is one of the most filmed settings famous for its desert-like landscape and the incredible 7-mile expanses of sand. It is, without a doubt, the perfect place to enjoy a great day away from the city and its scorching temps.

It will take you around 2 hours and 15 minutes to get there by train, a dazzling 3 hours and 25 minutes if you need to take the train to Hastings and then the bus to Camber Sands, and slightly over 1 hour and 30 minutes (or a tad under 1 ½ hours depending on the traffic) with your Celine Travel driver.
2. West Beach
Divided up by wooden groynes, this long stretch of beautiful small, rounded pebbles gives Whitstable an alluring charm that is hard to beat. The beach runs from the harbour of the town to the beautiful village of Seasalter on the north coast of Kent. Spend your weekend at one of the many wooden beach shacks while watching fishermen come and go with the day’s catch, wet your whistle at Neptune pub (superb collection of beers!) or treat yourself with palate-pleasing tastes of an oyster restaurant sitting right on the beach.

West Beach is about 90 minutes by train and 2 hours and 20 minutes if you use the bus. Your private driver, though, will get you there is an hour or so.
3. West Wittering
An unspoilt sandy beach that offers stupendous views of the South Downs and Chichester Harbour. It has been a favourite seaside heaven among Brits since forever, with grassy picnic areas to share memorable moments with your loved ones. As for those that fancy action-packed city escapes, they will find the wind and kite surfing club right up their alley!

To get to West Wittering, you will need to take the train to Chichester and then the bus, which is a trip of nearly 2 ½ hours. Your taxi will cut the journey by an hour, though.
4. Botany Bay
Besides fab panoramas of natural milky stacks and chalky cliffs, Botany Bay is also an exceptional location for fossil hunting. It is definitely one of the most picturesque bays in the country, especially when the tide is in. Then, you will find plenty of sand to lay your beach towel before it goes under water again at high tide!

It is close to 2 hours away by train, 3 hours and 20 minutes by bus, or 1 ½ hours by car.
5. Dungeness
Many locals prefer Dungeness for its romantic, yet almost surreal, feel. You will find plenty of people fishing with a rod and line here at a spot called boil or patch while several couples and families soak up the sun in the massive expanse of shingle that bears much resemblance to an Arabic desert.

It is quite a long ride by train (a bit over 3 hours) or bus (3 hours and 40 minutes), a tedious journey of 4 hours and 40 minutes if you must go through Ashford, but a more relaxing 1 1/3-hour drive with your air-conditioned private taxi.
Whatever the destination for this weekend may be, make sure you book your taxi now and get everywhere you need to be fast, easy, and as comfortably as it can ever be!
