Located just under 40 miles from central London and with more than 12 million passengers travelling through it every year, Luton Airport is undeniably becoming a popular travel hub that’s claiming its place as the 5thlargest airport in the UK. Whether you are planning a journey to or from Luton Airport, this guide will help you find all the details you need to make this experience as stress-free and cost-effective as it can be.
How to Get to Luton Airport
Both public and private transport can get you to Luton Airport from anywhere in the UK on a 24/7 basis.
1. By Train
Luton Airport has a train station towards the A1081 and Kimpton Road called Luton Airport Parkway, which is on a direct link into the heart of London. There is also a regular shuttle bus service that runs every 10 minutes (including night) that will take you from Luton Parkway to London Luton Airport. Another airport coach link service runs from Milton Keynes railway station and will take you straight to the airport terminal.
Note: If you are, or are travelling with, a disabled person, you should contact the relevant train company and arrange assistance, at least, a day before your arrival.

2. By Coach
It takes around an hour or so to travel from Luton to London by coach, depending on the traffic of the day, route, and time of the day. The coach drop-off and pick-up points are right in front of the terminal building. You will need to endure several bus stops, though, as you leave the airport, to pick up more travellers along the way.
3. By Bus
The following regular local bus services serve Luton airport:
The Terravision shuttle bus– Operates just outside the arrivals hall and connects Victoria Station to the airport directly (runs every 30 mins). Will take you to the airport (or Victoria station) in around 65-70 minutes.
easyBus– Functions as both an airport shuttle bus between various London airports and a bus service that connects the airport with London Central. Runs 24/7, every 15-30 minutes.
Greenline– The Greenline 757 Service will get you to Luton Airport (or take you from it to Central London). Includes several stops at Victoria, Marble Arch, Baker Street, Finchley Road, and Brent Cross.
Notes: You can’t take things like sports equipment, prams, pushchairs, wheelchairs, or musical instruments on a bus. For luggage above the allowance, you also need to reserve seats.

4. By Car
You may access London Luton Airport via M25 (32 miles to the airport - exit Junction 21 to get to M1) and M1 (exit at Junction 10 and follow signs to the airport - 2 miles away) from anywhere in the UK.
Take the A505 double carriageway if you are travelling from the East. You should be able to see signs to the airport, which lies just off the A505 motorway. Finally, if you are approaching from the West, you can either use the M25/M40 to get to M1 or come via Dunstable and follow the signs to the airport.
Note: When calculating costs, also include parking fees, which could be quite hefty around the airport.
5. By Taxi
Luton Airport is serviced by more than 500 taxi companies, some of which also offer airport transfers at competitive rates, like Celine Travels. Taxis comprise an excellent, hassle-free way to get not only to Luton airport but anywhere in the country.
Pre-booking your taxi with Celine Travel will give you peace of mind, knowing that your driver will be waiting for you at arrival, ready to help you with your luggage and take you to your hotel room or other destination of your likes conveniently, safely, and in the shortest possible time, avoiding congestion and traffic delays.
