So, you have just arrived at Heathrow Airport and think you have enough time to explore London a bit until your next flight. Worry not if even though you are stuck with a long layover, the schedule is still pretty tight. Here is a slew of some Heathrow airport transfer ideas to spend your time in the British capital and enjoy every bit of it!

Sightseeing in fast-forward
How about some trekking into the city? Arrange for a Heathrow airport transfer to the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Science Museum in South Kensington. All excellent choices for those that wish to take in some culture (most museums are free). About 45 minutes by Tube; much less with a pre-arranged taxi ride.
Now, if you are traveling with kids and don’t think that they would appreciate you dragging them to museums, then do head to Thorpe Park, which is less than a 30-minute taxi ride from Heathrow airport. There, you will be able to see some cool water rides, plenty of rollercoasters, and the tallest log flume in the UK!

Fancy a green stop just a few minutes from Heathrow? Take the road to the stately Gunnersbury Park, which used to serve as home to the Rothschild family, and then to Kew Gardens. This outstanding green space of over 250 years old will impress you with climate-controlled glasshouses, the rich variety of plants, the monumental outdoor sculptures, and many more.
Enjoying a Palate-Pleasing Meal
Without a doubt, London is every foodie’s heaven. You will most likely find a corner for every cuisine, representing its traditional flavours the tastiest and most savouring way. Just reach Leicester Square or Piccadilly Circus and then walk to Chinatown. A Heathrow airport transfer will save you the 50-minute travel on the Tube and get you there much faster as your private driver knows London streets (and how to avoid traffic and congestion) like the back of his hands.
Once in Chinatown, you can treat your taste buds with a noodie fix, before you continue your adventure to:
Mayfair (at Tamarind) – Great Indian food
Fortnum & Mason – Superb choice for an afternoon tea
Little Venice area (for more atmospheric dining along the canals) - Try Katehor The Summerhouse, for excellent authentic Persian or seafood dishes respectively.

End this short, yet fulfilling, journey with a classic British pub experience. If you want to enjoy canal views, then have your beer at The Bridge House but if you are willing to take it a bit further, then we suggest to stop by Hammersmith and eat in a pub like The Dove or The Blue Anchor, with overwhelming panoramas of River Thames and pub classics like steak, roast chicken, Guinness pie, sausage and mash, and, of course, fish and chips.
See? There are always two sides of everything. Some people could feel let down by an airport layover. Some others would make the most (and best) of their time and get back on their flight with their luggage full of great memories. If you belong in the second category of travellers, then dohave your Heathrow airport transfer arranged by contacting Celine Travel.
We will take it from there!
